From college failure to 7-figure founder
Before I built a 7-figure business, I was the girl sitting in her cubicle Googling ‘how to quit your job and make money online.’
I did everything ‘right’ growing up: graduate high school, go to college, get the degree.
Only, my path wasn’t linear.
I failed out of college on my first try (with a literal .08 GPA). I took some time, went back to school, and was determined to graduate with honors.
And I did! From failure to honor roll. Only… I still didn’t know what to do with my life.
I chose a random major based on a Forbes article about the most lucrative degrees. My classmates were all getting data science jobs at big tech companies. The thought of that made my skin crawl.
So, I started working random jobs here and there in support roles: office manager, receptionist, executive assistant, etc.
And while I enjoyed these roles, I knew I was capable of more.
I had big dreams to travel, to write, to live a life beyond the cubicle.
So, I started a nearly decade-long journey of trying to figure out how to escape the corporate world.
I tried everything: MLM after MLM. Blogging. Drop shipping. Travel influencing. I spent $5k on a course to teach me how to build courses (even though I had nothing to teach). I even almost spent $20k on a web design certificate because I thought working in tech was the only way to make ‘real’ money online.
What remained true during this time was this: I was utterly convinced I had nothing to offer on my own.
But everything changed when I was in a serious hiking accident. I was diagnosed with PTSD and started experiencing severe anxiety. I went from wanting a way out of my stressful corporate job to absolutely needing an escape route for my mental health.
So even though I thought I had no ‘skills,’ nothing to offer, no clients, and no savings…
I went all in and started a virtual assistant business from my bedroom.
Five months later, I was making $10,000 a month working 25 hours a week.
I was able to work from wherever. Travel whenever. Make more money.
But more importantly, I was able to take care of myself. Sleep in. Take mental health days when I needed to.
At the time, virtual assistants and online service providers were touted as ‘side hustle’ gigs making no more than $20/hour.
Here I was having created a 6 figure salary for myself while working part time hours.
I didn’t become a 6 figure VA because someone taught me how -
I became a 6 figure VA because I figured out what high caliber, high quality clients look for, completely rewired my mindset, and _
And here’s the thing:
I never went viral. I didn’t get lucky. And I'm definitely not an overnight success story.
I simply figured out the right way to build a business, and it worked.
So even though I had a thriving VA business, I kept getting asked the same questions: ‘How did you do this? Can you teach me?’
I wasn't a ‘business coach.’ I was just someone who figured it out through trial and error.
But I realized that's exactly what was missing - someone who'd actually done it, not someone selling a dream they'd never lived.
So I started teaching others my exact process: how to land premium clients, how to position yourself as high-caliber, how to build a business that gives you actual freedom.
My first 5 clients all quit their jobs and went full time online in under 12 weeks.
From there, I shifted gears and went from VA —> business coach.
That's when everything exploded.
My client results skyrocketed. I was featured in Forbes. I built an incredible community, a huge personal brand, and a team. I surpassed multiple 7 figures.
Within a few years, I'd helped thousands of people quit their 9-5s and build 6 and even 7 figure online businesses.
I went from knowing what it takes to successfully work online, to knowing what it takes to successfully scale an online business to 7 figures and beyond.
From there, I shifted gears and went from VA —> business coach.
That's when everything exploded.
